Who am I? Once upon a time, I would have been called Arafel, in some places. It will work for now. I am a single white female, and that tells you very little about me. I am a nurse, and that tells you something about me, if you know anything about nurses. I live in the Pacific Northwest because of all the places I've been in the U.S., I love these mountains the most. I've been to most regions of the U.S., so that is an educated opinion. I traveled to many of those places by hitchhiking. That tells you even more about me. I love camping and living outdoors, and have spent years living that way, in the mountains and the desert, and on the seashore. I always come back to my mountains, but I miss the desert, and have a periodic need to see the ocean, to contemplate infinity. If you hadn't noticed already, I like to play role playing games. They exercise my imagination and provide a stress release, and a social life. Better than hanging out in bars. Give me a good book store anytime!
Especially a book store that serves espresso, another good reason to live in the Pacific Northwest, espresso on every corner! I also like fine art, fine music, and fine literature. I like the renaissance painters, humanism, realism, surrealism, and recently Thomas Kincaid. I like Bach, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Joe Cocker, Sass Jordan, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Joe Satriani, Richard Elliot, and James Galway. I have read Jane Austin, Socrates, Sarte, Homer, Virgil, C. J. Cherryh, Isaac Asimov, Anne Bishop, and Steven Brust. These lists are by no means inclusive of all my interests!!
I live with 3 large dogs of mixed ancestry. Tweety and Filbert, the Lutino Cockatiels recently joined us. I enjoy yard work and gardening. I like to grow herbs and spices. I use a little herbal medicine along with my nursing. I am an informal follower of Wicca. I can usually be found in jeans or sweats or scrubs. I can count the number of times I've worn a dress in the last 20 years on my hands and have fingers left over, and I'm proud of it!
