Chapter Two
Morning came early; Blake had slept well despite the events of the night before. He felt more confident than he ever had. Molly had woken before him, she was in the kitchen with Lindsey preparing breakfast. Blake did not see the others.
"Morning my mate." Molly bounced toward him and gingerly kissed him on the lips. Blake smiled as he kissed her.
"So were married?" He reached down and scratched his stomach, seemed a bit furrier than usual.
"Married? No, we are mates. Fated one for the other. It is deeper than marriage, far deeper." Molly poked him playfully in the chest and turned lightly on one heel and returned to the kitchen.
"Where is everyone else?" Blake moped into the kitchen, his eyes spied a large variety of a breakfast foods.
"Getting stuff together and the Lycans." Lindsey vigorously stirred a bowl full of batter with a whisker.
Blake cocked and eyebrow. "There are more?"
Lindsay nodded. "Well, not lot's more but yeah, there are more. But you are big news buddy boy. If we found a great seer and didn't tell anyone, well that just wouldn't be polite."
Molly formed an exaggerated smile and stated cheerfully "And he is my mate too!"
Blake sighed. Molly put away her smile and stood to comfort him.
"I know it's a lot huh?" She put her hands on his shoulders.
Blake stood silent for a moment, focusing on her lovely human lips, deep green human eyes and beautiful red human hair.
"Well, " Blake began "If I guess being mated to you is not so bad."
Molly's jaw dropped, Blake tried to feign seriousness but his smirk betrayed him. Molly laughed, glad that Blake had only been teasing her. She saw it as sign of acceptance.
Blake began to help with breakfast but Lindsay and Molly shooed him from the kitchen.
"This is not the work of a great seer. Lindsay is a hand maiden, she cooks. You are a great seer, you foretell the future."
Blake raised his eyebrows once again, pointed to himself. "I have never made a prediction in my life - and Lindsay - she's rich!"
Molly laughed. "You are still thinking like a human, the pack is rich. Lindsay's wealth is our wealth, her strengths are our strengths, as are ours hers. Lindsay was born to a human, a non-Lycan. Most of us were - except Jeff....I was born to a wolf."
"A wolf?" Blaked cocked an eyebrow.
"Uh huh. A wolf." Molly mocked his eyebrow.
"So you are a wolf?" Blake asked quizzically.
"Duh. So are you, we all are. Some born to humans and others born to wolves. You have a lot to learn."
"Ah." Blake realized he had a dumbfounded look and snapped out of it.
Molly grabbed a couple of beers from the fridge and handed one to Blake and then continued her explanation. "Anyway. You have never predicted anything because you haven't changed yet, once you embrace the moon tonight you will see things to come both near and far and none will best you in a fight not even Jeff."
"Wow." Blake scratched his chin. "So does every pack or whatever have a great seer?"
Molly gave her big smile again "Nope. There hasn't been a great seer in a very long time. Having one is a great advantage."
"You said 'in a fight', you guys fight? Each other?" Blake was no coward but after feeling the brute force of Jeff's blow last night - a blow that had not been meant to hurt Blake, he was not very sure he could fight a werewolf.
"Lycan." Molly said.
Blake gave a perplexed look. "Excuse me?"
"Lycan, not werewolf. And yes, you can."
"You can read my mind!" Blake exclaimed.
"You're my mate. Duh. Deeper, way deeper remember?" Molly gave a goofy look and sat back down at the table sipping her beer.
"Can I read yours?" Blake finally took a drink from his bottle but kept his eyes on Molly.
"I'm not sure if you can yet? Wanna try?" Molly chugged her beer and caressed the top of it with her tongue.
Blake focused for a moment but heard nothing.
"You want to have sex?" He said.
"Wow! Amazing!" She joked.
"Lucky guess." Blake said and then did his best imitation of Molly licking a bottle. Lindsay couldn't contain her laughter.
Molly stood up and wrapped her arms around Blake, who did so in kind. Tthey stood forcing each others tongues into one another's mouths for what seemed like five minutes.
Molly broke their lip lock. "C'mon. It's not very sanitary to uhhh, Y'know around all the food."
Molly and Blake made their way back to the bedroom, where the hurriedly removed clothing. Molly crawled her back along the bed while using her legs to propel her so that her hands were free to remove her shirt and pants.
Blake skipped foreplay and crawled atop Molly. She was already sopping wet so his penis slid in easily. With each beastly thrust, Molly groaned a deep animal sound. Each time Blake heard it, his arousal heightened until finally without warning he began cumming inside of her. Each gush of cum seemed to squeeze his testicles upward and inward. Molly ran her nails down his back, leaving scratches, which only caused Blake to orgasm even harder.
Molly panted as Blake collapsed on top of her, motionless and drained.
Blake melted for a bit before finally pulling his semi-flaccid penis from Molly's now goeey nether regions with a soft plop. He rose from the bed, but she did not stir until Blake began putting his pants back on.
He watched Molly lying still on the bed, her left arm thrown back and both knees tucked in, her legs slightly ajar. Her right hand was toying with the semen trickling between the lips of her vulva.
"Why in such a hurry to get dressed?" Molly said, slowly standing to her feet and arching her back as she rose.
"Well," Blake didn't really have a good reason but he did feel the need to be dressed, something was telling him to get dressed. "I-sorta, need to be I think."
Molly laughed. "Ohhhh. Not up for round two?"
"No-" Blake couldn't explain it, but he didn't need to. Molly started and perked her head up, she rushed naked to the window and threw the shades open.
Blake saw it too. A man with greasy, tangled hair, wearing a black leather jacket. His face was scarred by a claw mark.
Molly growled at him.
"Hey love. Wassup wif da growlin'? Nice set a perkies you got there." His accent was street british.
"JEFF!" She shouted and jumped backward toward the bedroom door. Blake placed himself between the strange man and Molly but he had a feeling this was not just a case of a peeping tom, this man had a purpose.
"Hey there fella. How's about you an me goes for a ball, eh?" The man pulled out a revolver.
Blake saw Jeff in the distance over the man's shoulder. running hard and fast. Jeff changed as he came, his fur covered biceps ripped through his shirt and his blue jeans. He was in full beast form when he lept toward the man's back. Before Jeff's claws could clutch at him, the brit had turned and fired the revolver, sending Jeff headlong into the side of the cabin. Blake did not stay to watch Jeff crash to the ground. He took the few seconds Jeff had bought them and ran into the kitchen, where Molly and Lindsey had changed form.
Wes walked through the rear door. "I don't think he has silver in that thing, Jeff is still changed."
"Grrrauurd. Brlaaake." Molly said, walking toward the front door, her claws extended.
"Who the hell is this guy?" Blake shouted.
"He's a soldier for another pack. A human, they sent him here to see if you were here. Probably to kill you." Wes pointed out the back door."C'mon. Molly will be fine. They sent the human to test the waters, to feel us out. Follow me. Lindsey, go help Molly and I will get Blake to saftey."
Blake ran behind Wes who was running straight toward the boat. Blake heard another gunshot ring out.
He stopped, turned and shouted "Molly! Molly!"
"C'mon. He can't hurt her without silver." Wes grabbed Blake by the arm and continued down the path toward the boat. They crossed the dock and jumped onto the boat. Wes walked toward the stern of the small boat and started the engine.
Once they had made it nearly a hundred yards from the dock, Wes turned to Blake. "Head below deck, I don't want anyone spotting you."
Blake nodded and entered the open doorway that lead below deck. This is where he met Gypsy Lynn.
"Hello." She said as Blake stopped in the door way. "Is okay. Come in. Am hiding too."
Blake looked up at Wes. Wes was already looking back at him, Wes nodded. Blake shut the door behind him.
"My name is Lynn, most people call me Gypsy." She was dressed a bit of old world and new world romanian clothing, her rich accent suggested the same. Her face portrayed that of a woman of forty years.
Blake nodded. "So who are you hiding from?"
She laughed.
"You are knowing all you need to be knowing of me, lets be knowing more of you, okay?"
Blake once again nodded and sat down in the only place he could, beside her on the bunk.
Molly was angry at herself. Why hadn't she seen it? It was a distraction to lure the pack away from Blake while Wes stole off with him....damn traitorous Wes! How could he betray the Treehowlers to the Shadow Pack?
The rest of the pack followed behind Molly, pushing their four legs fast and hard through brush and thorns. Molly knew where they would take Blake, right into the heart of the canyon where the Shadow Pack made their home.
Molly knew all there was to know about the Shadow Pack. It was her duty to know the lore of the Lycan, the Changers. Some two hundred or more years ago, the first Lycan were created to act as protectors of nature. Some Lycan's protected the forest, others the rivers, and still others the sea.
Ninety years after the first Lycan walked the Earth, there had been made a pact with the creators that Lycan would also protect humans. Some Lycan were infuriated - fan was responsible for destroying the forest and the rivers. So rather than obey the pact, they hunted humans en masse. As punishment, the creators cursed them to darkness, forbidding them to ever see the light of day again.
The Shadow Pack were not many in number these days. So they recruited when possible from the ranks of other packs by corrupting whom they could with promises of power and immortality. They wanted to control Blake, sway them to their cause. If they were to turn Blake against the other Lycan...
Molly could not think of it any longer, her chest was tightening at the thought of losing Blake. He was too far now for her to feel him. She wanted to call out to him to let him know they were coming. She forced herself not to think about her mistakes and certainly not about the possibility of losing Blake.
After several hours of running, the pack stopped. Only Lyndsey had stayed behind to await the arrival of the Wetpaw Pack. They would protect the Caern site in their abscense. The Caern could not be disturbed until Blake returned.
Lynn placed her hand on Blake's knee and carressed it.
"You are being so scared. Why being so scared?" Lynn pressed a breast against him and began to run her tongue under his ear lobe.
Blake cringed. "Well, people...something, someone is trying to kill me." Blake felt her hot breath on his neck, he felt aroused by her forwardness and old world charm.
"Because of who you are Blake, because of what you are." She began unzipping his pants.
Blake motioned for her to stop but she ignored him. "You know what I am and who I am. How?" Blake was very uncomfortable with this situation.
"Your friend Wes tell me your name. As for me knowing what you are, is easy to see." She now had his penis in her hand, and was trying to stroke it.
Blake stood up and fastened his pants. "I have a mate." Blake looked toward the door.
"...and you are thinking of doing what?" Gypsy Lynn began to rise from the bed.
Blake bolted up the steps and broke through the frail cabin door.
"Wes! Something is wrong here!" He turned to face Wes, who stood with one hand on the wheel and the other pointing a pistol at Blake.
"Wrong? What could possibly be wrong? Everything seems right to me." Wes smirked.
Gypsy Lynn climbed onto the deck and placed her hands on Blake's shoulders."It's okay. Nobody is wanting to hurt you."
Blake shrugged her hands from his shoulders. "Back off. Wes? What the hell is going on?"
Wes tucked the pistol under his belt.
"Well, quite simply. We need ya man...by we I mean the Shadow Pack. That whole thing back there? Just smoke and mirrors so I could get you on the boat. Gypsy here has been wanting to meet you for awhile." Wes motioned to Gypsy.
"Is true. I knew you be coming." She sat down and opened a dark bottle.
"Whiskey? Good for what is ailing." She took a drink.
"Meet me?" Blake also sat. He could jump into the water but he would either be shot or captured. At the very least he could take some time to find out what exactly was going on.
"You are a seer. We are having need of seer." She motioned the bottle toward Blake but he refused. She shrugged and took another swig.
"If you don't help us Blake...we be killing you. No in hurry though, you no have changed yet."
"How do I help you?" Blake leaned back.
"Tonight...you be making first change in our place. You are being one of us." Gypsy took another sip of the whiskey.
"Shadow Pack?"
Gypsy Lynn nodded. "Yep."
"Jesse. I see the boat." Molly stood, along with the others, naked in the tree line.
"I see it too." Jeff said crouching behind Molly.
"We will never catch it like this. We'll have to keep running. keep tracking it and try to meet them when they dock." Molly shifted into a wolf and bolted onward. The rest followed in kind.
After a few hours, they had tracked the boat to the other end of the lake where it had docked but no one was aboard. They were too late.
"Fuck!" Molly kicked the broken door that led below. Eric stood silently, holding out a shirt and khaki pants that he found. She snatched up the clothes and put them on.
After they had all dressed, the met on the dock.
"Alicia, go get us a ride." Molly motioned toward a vacant truck.
Alicia nodded and ran barefoot toward the truck. She looked around and saw no one. She found the keys in the pull-down visor and drove to pick up the others.
Molly sat in the passenger seat and the rest climbed in back.
"We have to get to him before the sun falls, before the Shadow Pack begins to stir." Molly slapped the console rapidly. "Go, go, go!"
Alicia floored it. They all had his scent but not as strong as Molly.
After half an hour of wreckless driving, the troupe saw they had not been too far behind. A sedan could be seen ahead and Molly smelled Blake stronger now.. But she also smelled Shadow Pack.
"That sedan! Get me close to it." Molly pointed.
Eric stuck his head through the rear window. "Let me do it. I am better at this sort of stuff Molly."
Molly began to protest, but Eric was a pro wrestler. "Do it. Be careful."
Alicia pulled along side the sedan and Eric lept, shifting as he did. He landed on the hood, smashing it into the engine block. Sparks flew from beneath the vehicle but it did not stop.
With his fist, Eric smashed the windshield and saw Wes poiting a pistol at him.
"Trrrraitor." Eric said as he raised his fist.
Wes laughed and pulled the trigger.
The silver .44 magnum bullet entered through Eric's eye, and out the back of his head. Eric's body went limp and rolled from the hood of the car, flopping on the side of the road.
"Noooo!" Blake screamed as he reached for Wes. He felt a heavy, fur covered hand grasp his arm.
"Be niiiice." Gypsy slammed him back against the seat. Her fur was midnight black and almost seemed to absorb the light.
Molly screamed, "Fuuuuck! Get me over there!" She shifted into her hybrid form and kicked the open the truck door. Then she lept onto the top of the car, where she reached in and crushed Wes' gun hand.
Wes cried out in pain. Gypsy burst through the roof of the car and drew her claws down Molly's back. Molly howled and turned to face Gypsy Lynn... there could be no denying it now, this was Shadow Pack.
Molly lept and crashed into Gypsy Lynn, sending them both off the car and flipping onto the pavement. Jeff lept from the truck, rolling as he hit the ground, and stood to assist Molly.
Gypsy and Molly both were locked into a full on dog fight, wrestling, clawing and biting with no clear winner. Jeff approached and waited until he could grasp the shadow wolf and did so. His powerful arms yanked up the black wolf and held her in place.
"Bllllake...my...maaate...bbiiitch." Molly growled and with an extended hand she raked her claws across Gypsy Lynn's throat, tearing the flesh open. Jeff let the limp corpse fall to the ground.
Wes steered the car with his good hand. "Oh that bitch!" He held up his mangled hand.
Blake saw the gun lying on the front seat and climbed over to grab it. While Wes' hand was useless his elbow worked just fine and he used it to strike Blake in the ribs. Blake grunted, but would not be deterred and grabbed the pistol. He fell back into the rear seat, and immediately raised the pistol, pointing it at Wes.
"Stop this fucking car!" Blake commanded.
Wes laughed and veered hard left causing the car to jack-knife and flip.
Alicia slammed on the brakes to stop the truck and avoid hitting the sedan flipping in the road ahead of her.
In the truck bed, Jessica slammed into the rear window. "Dammit!" Jessica cursed and climbed off the truck.
"Well fuck! Like I a new he was gonna do THAT!" Alicia climbed out of the truck and rushed to the upside-down car. A badly injured Wes was crawling out.
Jessica lept in front of Alicia, and kicked Wes in the face as hard as she could. "Fucker!"
"Blake!" Alicia squatted to look into the car.
Molly rushed to the car. Her clothes were shredded and nearly falling off.
"Blake!" She signaled to Jeff who was still in hybrid form.
Jeff lifted the car, allowing Molly and Alicia to pull Blake's limp body from the car. He was bleeding badly and his eyes were shut. Molly suspected more than one bone was broken. She could sense his thoughts, scattered and weak. They loaded him into the rear of the truck.
They drove as fast as they could, following backroads to avoid authorities. When they returned to the Cairn, the sun had fallen and the Wetpaw Pack was standing watch.
"Molly!" Lindsey rushed to meet them and saw Blake in the truck bed. "Is he alive?"
Molly did not answer and signaled for others to help them carry Blake to the Cairn, near the moon stone.
"He is still in there." Molly said, kneeling beside Blake.
"C'mon Blake. You need to shift. C'mon. Moon's out and everything." Molly kissed his forehead.
A small cloud uncovered the glowing full moon and Blake opened his eyes. His head felt like shit, throbbing. The near fire light seemed blinding and he was quite certain his ribs were broken.
"Molly?" Blake saw the face of his mate, he stiffly raised his hand to touch her cheek.
"I'm here. Were all here...you need to shift Blake, or you could die." Molly was teared up, tears of fear and joy.
"I hurt really bad Molly but I'll try."
He stood, aching, basking in the beam of moonlight shooting through the dark clouds above him. He could feel it's power surge through him...his mind slipping...becoming less human and more animal....
The sky thundered. Blake could see the creation of the world in his mind, he saw the creators...both man and woman...mortal and immortal, beautiful and terrible. Blake felt the animal in him stir, pent up for so long. He was both afraid and in awe of it. Finally he let the animal take him, and felt his bones begin mending and the broken veins seal. His head stopped throbbing, but a new pain over took him as the animal began changing his bones and muscles.
"It huuurts!" Blake cried.
Molly wanted to comfort him but she new how dangerous a new Lycan could be.
"Only the first time, fight through it!" Molly remembered her first time, she knew his muscles felt like fire.
Blake felt a howl well up in him and he released it. "AARoooooooo!"
The pain lessened with each howl. Finally he found himself much lower to the ground and standing on all fours. There staring at him was a red wolf with the loveliest green eyes he knew.
"Can you hear me now?" Blake heard Molly's voice clearly in his mind, he could see images of them kissing and swimming in the water.
"I sure can. You want to go for a swim?" Blake replied.
Molly chuckled in his mind. "Haha. Later, sometimes our thoughts tend to leak."
Again Blake saw an image of him mounting Molly from behind and rutting. They were both in wolf form.
"Umm. So they do." Blake noticed his senses were overloaded. He could smell everything...both good and bad.
"Haha! I was thinking later you might want to learn the true meaning of doggy style. You'll learn to tune those smells out by the way...and not to broadcast your thoughts all the time." Molly howled and both packs shifted into wolf form.
"Lead the way seer." Molly thought.
Blake looked out into the woods. He could see quite well even though it was dark. He felt clumsy on four feet but took off in a steady trot and the pack followed. Once he was more sure of his footing he broke into a dead run and still the pack followed.
"Wow! I've never moved so fast in all my life!" Blake felt exhilirated.
They ran for half an hour, until Blake led them back to the cairn.
Blake shifted back into his human form and sat in the dirt. The pack also changed back to human form and gathered around him.
"Wow! This is great! I feel healthier than ever!" Blake panted.
Molly sat beside him. "See? Not so bad being a wolf afterall. Rest up and then you can try hybrid."
Blake cocked an eyebrow. "Hybrid?"
Molly laughed. "It's your strongest form, what Jeff calls your fighting form."
"Jah. First favorite form." Jeff used his thumb to point at himself. "Molly likes dah doggy style."
Molly and Jeff stared at one another, and then bursted out laughing.
One of the Wetpaw Pack approached the trio.
"My name is Louis, it's good to see you in good health Seer." Louis extended his hand and Blake accepted in a form hand shake.
"Thank you Louis, have a seat join us...try to avoid rocks." Blake shifted his weight and pulled a small stone from beneath him and tossed it aside.
"Lindsey!" Shouted Molly. "Jog on up to the house and get food and drink for everyone please."
Jeff hopped up. "I vill help her."
It was then Blake noticed Alicia crying.
"What's wrong with Alicia?" Blake asked Molly.
"Wes was her mate. She blames herself for not seeing it sooner. It is because of her we chose not to kill Wes. Maybe, one day, Alicia will be able to cure Wes of whatever darkness has consumed him. " Molly hung her head.
Louis sighed. "It's hard when one of your own turns to the Shadow Pack. They have a way of getting to you."
Molly nodded. "Speaking of Shadow Pack...one of them was able to go out in the day light. A female."
"Gypsy Lynn was her name. She wanted me to help them." Blake said.
"They wanted you to kill, rape and destroy humanity. Had you chose to join them, no one could have stopped you or them." Molly replied.
Blake shrugged. "Well, I told her I already had a mate. Deeper, way deeper, ring any bells?"
Molly grinned. "Mmm, you can ring my bell."
