Eight Months Later, Late Winter
Returning to the "real world" was difficult for Blake. He saw everything so differently now. Molly was pregnant with Blake's child and she had moved into his apartment. Though Blake could not claim their new relationship had been trouble free, because it hadn't. Molly didn't like Blake to stay late at the office, especially since she was on maternity leave. Blake learned that Molly had a bit of a jealous streak, but nothing that patience would not overcome. Afterall, she could read his thoughts, but Blake only ever thought of one woman.
Blake sat at his desk finishing up the backend for a new database management interface. It felt good to write code again. Truth be told, Blake enjoyed city life - something else he and Molly disagreed on. Molly had been pressuring him for months to pull his savings and move to the Cairn. He had promised to do so before the baby was born, which would not be long now.
His phone rang.
"Hello Molly." He answered. While shifting in the city was difficult, his precognitive senses had not been dampened at all.
"Are you still at work?" Molly groaned.
"I'm actually just finishing up and then I'll be out the door and on my way home to you." Blake saved the module he was working on and logged out.
"You better be." She said only half-serious. "And pick me up some chocolate milk."
"Didn't I just buy-" Blake had learned not to question such things. Her appetite had become enormous in the last few months.
"Yes you did, but we had a guest today and Lindsey likes chocolate milk too, so *thrrrp*" She made a soft rasperry with her tongue.
"Lindsey and Jeff came by? You should have called." He said.
"I got your voice mail." She replied.
"Oh! Damn that's right. We had a meeting at four." He slapped himself on the forehead.
"It's alright, they are staying the night so you can spend the day with us tommorow." She said it more like and order than a request.
"Okay, well I am out the door. Bye love."
"Bye mate."
Blake hung up the phone and headed down the elevator into the parking complex. Before he could get to his car he felt something he had not felt in months. He turned and out of a shadowy corner stepped a man dressed in torn blue jeans and dirty t-shirt.
"Hiya Blakey boy."
Blake could not place the accent.
"Do I know you?" Blake was only stalling. He knew what this man was.
"Me personally no. But you knew me mum. I gotta tell ya Blakey boy, I'mreally put off." His eyes shone red through the shadows.
"You need to leave me alone. I gave you my answer. So go crawl back into whatever dark hole you climbed out of." Blake reached for the pistol in his jacket. Before he could grasp the handle, the creature rushed him and knocked him back, smashing him into the side of a sedan. A car alarm sounded.
"What, can't fight fair?" The man grabbed Blake and threw him into a pillar.
Blake groaned and gasped for air. He stood to his feet and called on as much of his animal rage as he could muster. He could see clearly in the dark now and saw the man's face. He was young and his face was covered in pock marks. His left ear had a piece missing on the top, and a vicious scar ran from his forehead to his eye.
Blake lunged forward and punched the shadowy man as hard as he could, sending him reeling over the railing and down to the next level. Blake ran for his car. He started the engine and drove down the ramp.
The Shadow Pack creature lept in front of Blake's car. Blake did not slow down and hit him full on, knocking him to the side. Blake didn't stop until he got home.
He went through the front door and found Jeff watching the television.
"Blake! Wo bist du!" Jeff stood and opened his arms to greet Blake.
Blake hugged him briefly. "Where is Molly? I ran into a Shadow Pack member on my way home." Blake looked through windows frantically.
"Molly ist in da bath." Jeff double-checked the locks and turned off the television.
Blake walked into the bathroom and found Molly bathing, and Lindsey sitting on the toilet with her pants down.
He turned his head. "Sorry Lindsey."
"Haha. The last taboo." She laughed.
"Molly, I ran into a Shadow Pack guy on the way home. Gypsy Lynn's son." Blake kept his head turned.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Molly sounded frightened. She did not often sound frightened and her thoughts were leaking. Blake saw fleeting images of his death played out in different scenarios.
"I'm find, barely a scratch." Blake heard the toilet flush and turned just as Lindsey pulled her jeans over her hips.
"It's you I was worried about. He may try to harm you." He was concerned for Molly.
"Good thing vee have come for visit, Yah?" Jeff slapped Blake playfully on the shoulder. Jeff lived for a good fight.
"Yeah. But were not staying. I am pulling my savings in the morning and we are going back to the Cairn. That damned thing seemed like it was pulling it's strength from the city." Blake looked to Molly for approval.
She nodded. "There is more suffering and corruption in the city. They can draw on it. We'll be stronger at the Cairn and they won't approach it directly."
Blake nodded. "Good, We'll leave tommorow afternoon, Lindsey...call and have the plane ready."
"I can't call until morning." Lindsey said.
"Not a problem. Jeff and I will keep watch tonight." Blake took off his jacket and headed toward the bedroom.
"Nein. I vill vatch. You need to sleep." Jeff sat on the couch.
"No, we'll do this together." Blake shouted from the bedroom as he changd into a pair of blue jeans.
"No, you'll get some rest. You worked eleven hours today." Molly shouted as she climbed from the tub and wrapped herself in a towel.
Lindsey helped her to the bedroom, where Molly blocked the door way. "Bed. Now." She pointed.
Blake shook his head. "I'm suppose to sleep while that thing is out there?" He threw his hands up.
"Hun. Trust me. You'll wake up before he even touches the first stair. Get in bed." Molly closed the door behind her and dropped her towel.
It was very difficult to argue with a naked woman. Blake hung his head in defeat and climbed into bed.
"You are not sleeping in your clothes again, it took me months to break you of that." She tugged on his pant leg.
He rose to pull the jeans off and then fell back onto the bed. She climbed into bed next to him and pulled the blankets over both of them. He sighed once more and wrapped his arm around her. He rubbed her pregnant belly quietly in the dark.
"So what do you think?" Molly crooned, " A boy or a girl?"
"Do you really want to know? You know I know already right?" Blake kissed her forehead.
"Well, then don't tell me. I didn't let that doctor tell me at the ultrasound and I'm not gonna let you spoil it either." She playfully slapped his chest.
Blake laughed. "I'll keep it too myself then mate. Who knows... I could be wrong."
She nuzzled his shoulder with her nose. "Probably not."
Blake waited until she fell asleep and shifted into her wolf form, and ran his fingers through her silky fur. Blake wondered if the baby shifted too. He thought about sneaking out and joining Jeff but a growl from Molly made him think otherwise. Apparently he had not yet mastered his thoughts.
Blake's dream was interrupted by a prescense. His eyes shot open and he lept from the bed. Molly was still asleep beside him, he debated waking her and thought better of it. It was possible he was over reacting. He walked into the living room and found Jeff, staring intently out the window.
"He's here."
Blake fetched his pistol and checked to see that the silver .44 magnum ammunition had been loaded. It was the same pistol that had killed Eric. Molly had protested his keeping it, but Blake thought the pistol should be used for good, instead of evil. Molly did not question him further.
Lindsey walked into the living room with what appeared to be an old german sword, offering to Jeff. He accepted the weapon and motioned for her to return to her room.
Blake flattened his hand against the front door, waiting. He was not alone. Blake stepped away suddenly and as he did, the door shattered into splinters. A renegade Lycan stood waiting, fully shifted. His fur was black as night and his eyes burned the color of fire.
With inhuman speed, the creature tackled Blake and began clawing him.
"We Don't w--ant you Blakeyyy Boyyy".
The werebeast held his throat in one hand and his gun hand with the other. From the corner of his eye, Blake could see Jeff had been just as easily subdued by a second Lycan.
"Nooo!" Blake forced his hand up and tried to twist his wrist so that the gun barrel faced his opponent, but his wrist was forced back down.
He heard footsteps crunching on broken wood and saw Lindsey jump onto the creatures back with a kitchen knife. She quickly stabbed deep, causing dark blood to spray onto the wall. Yhe Lycan snarled and slapped her with the hand that had held Blake's throat. Using the distraction, Blake grabbed the pistol with his other hand and pushed the barrel into the creature's gut. He pulled the trigger and the gunshot echoed in the room. The Lycan howled in pain and began to crawl away like a wounded dog.
Blake stood to his feet and pulled the trigger once more. The second shot stilled the renegade Lycan to move no more.
Blake turned and placed the end of the gun to the head of the second Lycan. "Let him go ! Now !" Blake pressed the barrel in harder.
The creature released it's grip and swiped at Blake's arm to deflect the a shot. Then it leapt up and with a black streak it was through the front door.
Blake turned and saw not the body of Gypsy Lynn's son, but that of a young woman.
Jeff hid the body and Lindsey cleaned the blood. The gunshots had been heard by neighbors, and police arrived five minutes later. Blake explained that someone had broke in and a struggle followed, with the gunshots as warning - nobody was hurt. The police didn't buy it entirely and said they would be following up.
Much later that night, Blake was awakened by Molly.
"I can't sleep." She said shaking Blake's shoulder.
Blake wasn't sleeping that well himself, especially with the front door in splinters. Even with the knowledge that Jeff was keeping watch, he was still uncomfortable.
Blake rolled over and felt Molly's naked breast rub against his elbow, her breasts were larger since her pregnancy. Molly also used the words "tender" to describe them, it was a look but don't touch kind of warning.
"You know what would help me sleep?" Molly slowly licked his ear and followed with a quick playful bite to his neck.
Perhaps it was the fight earlier, or the peril they faced, but Blake found himself a bit aroused.
Molly grasped his semi-hard erection and stroked it until it was stiff. She carefully rolled over to allow Blake to enter her from behind. She was eager but not yet wet, so Blake teased her lips and clit with the head of his cock until she was wet enough to enter. Blake gently pushed inside, noting how thick her vulva had become. She was hot enough that there was a moment of mild discomfort but it passed quickly. He thrust his hips up so as to drive deeper into her. She responded with a muffled moan. With only a few thrusts, Blake's manhood was bathed in her lubrication. He tried to remain slow and steady but found him self thrusting at a faster pace.
It had been nearly two weeks since Molly and Blake had last made love. The heat and the wetness and the longing caused Blake to climax quickly. Molly moaned and squeezed his cock as it pulsed. Her hips shook, indicating her orgasm, which made him fell less guilty for climaxing first.
They lay quiet for a minute. Blake felt himself go limp inside her and finally slipped out. He felt his seed seep out of her and cover his soft dick as it wet sheet beneath them.
He leaned over her and kissed her deeply.
"I have been meaning to ask-" Blake began.
"A human... only when a wolf mates with a wolf will it be born a wolf... though would it matter to you if it was a wolf cub It would still be a Lycan?" She had sensed his thoughts.
"No... it wouldn't matter. I just wanted to know if I would be playing baseball or fetch with our child." Blake rubbed her stomach.
"You're a smartass sometimes, you know that?" She playfully prodded him with her elbow.
He chuckled, "Better than being a dumbass?"
"Also, the baby won't shift until it's old enough. I heard you thinking about that too." She pushed wrapped her legs around his and nestled into her pillow.
"You were sleeping..." Blake exclaimed quietly.
She laughed quietly, "So? You should see your dreams. And I'm not always in them mister, until I insert myself."
"Wow, you really do have a jealous streak." Blake rubbed her thigh with his hand and patted her butt.
"And I'm not ashamed of it." She replied sleepily.
He rolled back to his side and fell asleep to the sound of her breathing.
