A note from the webkeeper,

It is now December, in the year 2024. The current state of artificial intelligence in tools used to generate or enhance audio and visual media has reached a tipping point this past summer. The tools are among us, and are not going away. Advancements in the development, and adoption of the technology is like a nuclear powered icebreaking ship, plowing through the arctic ice. The first casualties are voiceover talent and concept artists, and there will be more to come. But, as with all disruptive change, there will be people that find new ladders and windows and doors in the chaos. Riding this icebreaker, like a Fremen riding a sandworm in the deserts of Dune, will be creative individuals who use these tools to generate content that humans enjoy. I predict by the end of 2025, we will have a best seller book and a major motion picture and a top ten song, that are created almost entirely by artificially intelligent tools. The genie is out of the bottle, and it is up to all of us to determine the moral, ethical, spiritual, and legal guidelines to use these tools for the benefit of humanity.

I came across Sigitheserious on DeviantArt in December 2024. What struck me about Sigi's works, is the effort and care taken in shepherding the image creation tools to craft consistency in the worldbuilding, characters, clothing, and props. Like a good photographer, I am sure Sigi has waded through dozens, hundreds, or thousands of images, to get the right lighting and composition and consistency. Keep on Keepin' on Sigi. I look forward to more of your stories.

Galactic Exploration Service press release - We are conducting in-depth scientific research on the planet Orcadia, where an exotic range of intelligent but brutal life forms has evolved. The Orcs struggle to survive and, especially, reproduce in this unique environment. The indigenious population's exuberant mating behaviour is carefully constrained by strict customs and taboos, intended to maximise their chances of procreation, and thus the survival of the Orc species. We are addressing a backlog of health and safety incidents involving female mission staff at present, but are confident of long-term success as a result of these learning opportunities. It is hoped that regular research reports on DA will entertain as well as inform.
