Gauntlet

This kind of tale is nothing new. The ancient Greeks told tales of a land of Amazons that where strong and exotic to spark men's emotions. The tradition traveled down the ages of a land untouched by man that belonged to the fairer sex. I remember old 50's B-movies that dealt with the same subject matter. Planets of women who are shocked and amazed to see the sight of a man. And the male lead always managed to convince the queen to accompany him back to Earth, even after she ordered his execution when they first met. I always enjoyed this kind of story, probably because it feeds the male ego, but I was never satisfied with the way they turned out. Looking at other's work on the net I could not find solace in their attempts. So, I wrote my own giving it a twist that placed it in the unique fantasy setting.
