Chapter 5: Doggy Style - Part 2

That night, Casmir begged off when Maria slid her fingers into his trousers. She nibbled his ear as he stared impassively upwards, but even strokes of her hand on his cock didn't bring it to life.

"What's the matter, honey?" Maria whispered, conscious of the fact that they weren't under a lean-to like they had been in camp.

"I said 'no,' girl."

"Come on, I'm...didn't you see the way Mickey did that wolf back there? That didn't turn you on?"

"The Kith? No." Casmir replied, but his cock had a mind of its own, and it stirred under her fingers.

"Oh, reallllly?" She smirked, kneading his cock into hardness.

Ashley woke with rough hands on her body, rolling her on to her stomach. Get off me! She tried to say, only to discover that she couldn't move a muscle. As hard as she tried, she couldn't even open her eyelids. A vision of Robert's corpse flashed in her head momentarily, and her stomach quailed at the prospect that the evil sorcerer Malrion had found them. The hand tied her arms behind her, tight enough that the rope bit painfully into her wrists. She could hear another person grunting and a body shifting... the same thing must be happening to Mickey.

"Got these 'ns tied." It was Cheven!

"Big one's done, too." She heard Taman call. Ashley's mind whirled. Casmir's men were betraying them, the bastard! The wizard who killed Robert must have put a price on their heads and now that Casmir didn't need them to work anymore, he was going to collect it.

"Bring 'em out here." Casmir's voice was low and harsh. She felt Cheven grab her upper arm, wrenching her shoulder as he dragged her out of the tent. Ashley could feel the cuts on her face from the gravely cave floor. She still couldn't control her own body.

"So. What now?" Wenzel asked.

"Killing them might be more merciful than leaving there." The indifference in Casmir's voice shocked her. They'd been working together for weeks, and he'd been sleeping with Maria almost the whole time. Wait... maybe Maria was in on this. Maybe that conniving bitch wanted to get rid of the rest of us. Arrrgh! She screamed mentally, but no one could hear her.

"Seems like a waste. I know places the pichka would fetch a good price."

"Cheven." Casmir admonished him. "I will not countenance that, no matter what their crimes." Crimes?! Ashely wondered.

"Hrghh..." Ashley heard Peter moan.

"Hey, Piotr's moving." Taman called.

"What?! That shouldn't be happening, not yet. Check his arms and bind his legs. Casmir ordered.

"Rrrrr-" Peter's voice grew louder and she could hear the diggers holding him down. Fight it, Peter, fight it!

"What are you, boy? If you were human you'd be laying still like the others." Casmir's voice sounded thoughtful.

"Gah - what the fuck!" Peter spat, regaining control of his tongue. He'd been bound tighter than the others, but he found himself able to move, albeit with little motor control. The more he tried, though, the more dexterity he managed.

"Arhhh!" Peter could feel heat growing in his belly. His vision narrowed and it was getting hard to think. He tried to concentrate but all he wanted to do was snap these ropes and beat the living crap out of whoever did this.

"Piotr." Casmir said firmly, and slapped him across the face. Peter reflexively snapped at the hand but missed. Before he could gather his strength to break his bonds he felt Cheven's hidden stiletto at his throat. He glared at the circle of diggers around him.

"When I get out of these ropes I swear I am going to-"

"Piotr!" Casmir yelled, snapping Peter's attention to his face. "I do not like being tricked, boy. I will not let you use me as a key to pass the gates of One-eye Cove and work your evil there."

Peter's mouth gaped, anger suddenly draining away. His mouth worked silently, but his brain came up empty.

"I expect your friend's half-way back to her Brotherhood handler by now, isn't she. You were good. I'll give you that. You had us all fooled, even me, and that doesn't happen often. But you went too far."

"Huh?!" Peter finally managed to croak. "We didn't...we're not..."

"You're not what?"

"I don't know...whoever you think we are."

No, not Peter, Ashley cursed. He can't talk his way out of paper bag. Let me talk, damn it!

"Ye think I be dense, do ye boy? That I would na' put two and two together when the Kith just happened to obey you pure-bred Suloise friend."

"Pure-bred Sul-what?" Peter was baffled.

"Enough. Gag him." Casmir ordered Taman.

"No, wait!" Peter yelled desperately, bending away from Taman's hands. "I'll talk, I'll talk."

Casmir eyed him suspiciously.

"Then start talking, and if I think you're jerking my chain that's the last chance you'll get."

Peter took a deep breath.

"We were waiting for an awards ceremony, but the Dean was late. He was supposed to come and get us for dinner, you know?"

Ashley cringed inside as she saw Casmir's frown deepen.

"I'm not interested in nonsense, boy. Gag him." He ordered.

"We...we're not from this planet." Peter said in a rush. "Someone brought us here, but he was killed, and we escaped from the bad guy, and fell in this underground river, and...and you know the rest."

He fell silent and the diggers all gaped at him.

"Say that again." Casmir said slowly. Peter did, and when he was done, Casmir's brow was furrowed in thought. Without saying anything, he drew out his amulet and silver hammer.

"Lord Jascar, keeper of mountains, thou that forges the iron in our souls, deliver us from trickery and reveal unto us the truth." His voice rose on the last word of the incantation, and he rang his hammer against the cave floor, sending an echo reverberating through the chamber. By the time the sound faded away, a steel-gray hammer was floating in the air before him.

"Lie to me, boy, and I will crush all y'er skulls." He growled. Peter nodded, his mouth dry.

"What is your true name"

"Peter Triplett." The hammer suddenly blazed red.

"I mean--I mean Peter Marshall Triplett. Really!" The hammer's glow brightened to white. Casmir paused, but gave him the benefit of the doubt.

"What is your connection to the Scarlet Brotherhood?"

"The...Scarlet Brotherhood?"

"You heard the question...and know your life rides on the answer."

"Um...I've never heard of it." The hammer faded to its original steel-gray.

"You've never heard of the Scarlet Brotherhood?"

"No!" Peter repeated, and the hammer flashed white again. Casmir looked baffled, stroking a sideburns furiously.

"You're no babe-in-arms. How can you say ye say that and believe it's true?"

"I don't know!" Peter yelled, frustrated at the questions. The hammer's glow stayed bright. Casmir abruptly sat, stunned by Peter's response. After the Greyhawk Wars, even the remotest frost barbarians had surely heard of the Scarlet Brotherhood. And yet, the Hammer of Justice vindicated him.

"Let's start over. Where are ye from?'

"Weaverville, North Carolina." Peter said, confident the hammer would glow white, and it did.

"Wee- and where is that place?"

"In the United States of America, on Earth." Peter said proudly.

"On Oerth, yes. So you are from this world."

"No." The hammer faded to gray again, and everyone looked at it, trying to interpret what that meant.

"I mean...I don't think so. On our world there's no magic. And..."

"Say that again."

"There's no magic on our world." The hammer stayed white.

"Alright. Start over. Tell me the story again, everything you remember."

"Well, we're all students at Western Carolina University, and we were sitting in this room, waiting, when..." He told the story slowly, adding as much detail as he could. When he got to the part where they materialized in the cloud castle, though, Casmir suddenly stopped him.

"Hang on. Aarakocra serving in a wizard's cloud castle? Not likely. Never heard of one of them venturing inside. Not a one." He looked around to the other diggers for confirmation, but they only shrugged in ignorance.

"The bird dudes? I don't know what they're called, but I saw 'em." The hammer stayed white.

"Tell me about the wizard who brought you." Peter described him, and a light slowly dawned on Casmir's face.

"Loose, floppy pants? Wider at the bottom than through the thigh? A vest? Bracelets?" He asked, confidence growing each time Peter nodded his head. "Did he have a red sash, maybe? Or a cloak?"

"Nnnno." Peter thought back, but he couldn't remember anything like that.

"His skin, though, it was white... like Mickey's, or yours."

"Um...I guess. Maybe a little gray." The hammer was white.

Casmir leaned back.

"Now I understand. There's only one being that would fit the description you just gave. A wizard of the Scarlet Brotherhood's Order of Sorcery. No other would dress like that. But how..." He mused.

Argh! Ashley wanted to yell, to explain how he must be wrong, but Peter just lay there, like a dumb log. Say something, damn it! She raged inside.

"The Brotherhood's sorcerers must have cast some kind of veil over your own minds so you wouldn't betray your true purpose."

"But--but--I remember growing up, and going to school, and...everything else. That was all back on Earth, how could that be fake?" Peter asked, not knowing what to think.

"The Order of Sorcery has access to secrets from the Suel Imperium, the greatest wizards that ever lived. Travel to other planes is probably child's play for them." Casmir said. "Your masters thought they could sneak spies in as runaways and..."

"We're not runaways, damn it! We just want to go home!" Peter's anger returned and he bellowed, struggling against his bonds.

"Yes, that is what ye believe. The hammer shows it. But that does not mean what ye believe is the truth." He gave the six a sad little smile.

Peter gaped. Was any of this possible? Was this still some awful nightmare that he could wake up from?

"Think they really are innocent?" Wenzel asked nobody in particular.

"Nah, I say we off 'em here." Cheven said.

"They are tools. Tools of evil, but still tools. If we have to kill them I will, but it would be better if we do not have to." Casmir said while Peter sputtered.

"So you'll know in advance before they put us in danger, hm?" Cheven asked.

"You just want their share of ore money." Wenzel said with a frown, but Cheven only shrugged.

"Sit in front of that hammer and tell me you haven't thought the same damn thing." He retorted.

Wenzel grumbled, but he didn't take the offer.

CONTENT TO BE ADDED: LATER...

"What if he's right? Shouldn't we at least consider the hypothesis?" Ashley asked in a small voice.

"Get real." Maria dismissed her.

"No, I mean...when Mickey, you know, the other night. I heard you talking to Casmir about how horny Mickey and the kith made you." Ashley said.

"Fuck off." Maria blushed.

"That's the thing. I got horny, too." Ashley admitted.

Maria and Erica looked at her, surprised.

"You did?" Maria asked.

"Yeah. You didn't on Earth, either." Ashley guessed.

Maria shook her head. "I never...back on Earth I thought bestiality was disgusting...I mean, I remember thinking it was...but..."

"Wait a sec. You two both got horny watching Mickey do it with the kith wolf?" Peter asked, slow on the uptake.

"Aw, shut up, Peter." The two girls chorused together.

"That's not the only thing." Ashley began. She told them how the bat attacking her had disintegrated in a blizzard of fur and bones, and recounted Mickey's story of hearing the bats in her head.

"For real?" Erica asked.

"That's what she said, and she sounded genuinely freaked out about it."

"But that means she isn't an agent for...whoever." Erica said.

"Or it means that she was undercover too." Ashley pointed out. "And what about you two." Ashley pointed at Steve and Peter.

"What? What about us?" Steve responded.
