Chapter 5: Doggy Style - Part 1
That night, Ashley lay awake, imagining monsters lurking in the surrounding tunnels. Sniffing, she noticed a tangy smell that she didn't recognize, it wasn't like any of the underground smells she'd grown accustomed to; it smelled moist and oily, like...
"Mickey?" She whispered tentatively, putting two and two together and coming up with a disturbing sum.
"Hm?" Her tentmate responded nervously, keeping her voice low so none of the others woke up.
"You didn't just see it, did you." Ashley asked, guessing the answer.
"I...ah...what do you mean?" Mickey stalled for time.
"You're not a very good liar, Mickey." Ashley chided her. When Mickey didn't answer, she continued. "You smell like wet dog."
Mickey didn't respond.
"Well?" Ashley pressed her.
"Can you keep a secret?" Mickey finally opened her mouth. "I mean, like a real, cross-your-heart-and-hope-to-die kind of secret?"
Ashley nodded, mouth dry, and listened to Mickey confess the full story of how she'd met the Kith.
"You mean, you...with a..." Ashley wasn't sure which was worse, having sex with a dog or being raped by a monster.
"Yeah." Mickey said simply.
"Oh my God." Ashley breathed. "It must have been awful."
"That's the part I don't understand." Mickey said slowly. "Afterwards it was horrible. I don't know how long I sat there crying after it left, feeling dirty, feeling...like an animal, you know?" She lay quietly, as Ashley struggled to find something appropriate to say. Before she could, though, Mickey continued. "But what I don't get is how I felt during. It was like I could feel what it was feeling. Like when it got turned on it made me get all soft and wet, you know? Like I was some kind of animal in estrus."
"Estrus?"
"You know, in heat." Mickey said, embarrassed to say the word.
"You mean...you liked it?"
"Don't ask. Just don't, alright?" Mickey almost begged.
"Um. Casmir didn't say anything about mind control." Ashley said, trying to change the subject.
"I think it was me, actually."
"Huh?"
"I think I read its mind."
"The wolf?!"
"You remember those bats that attacked. Back when we first entered the cave?"
Ashley nodded. It seemed like an eternity ago when they'd come down from the clouds. The thought of that fall made her shudder.
"I think I could hear them thinking."
"You could what?" Ashley asked, shocked.
"Yeah. When they first came I tried to do something, even just to think, but there wasn't any room in my brain. I felt like someone opened up the top of my skull and poured all this stuff in. It was all, like, distances and angles and vectors, like I was in some giant's tinker-toy set."
"You could see..."
"No. I couldn't see anything. But I knew how far away the bats were - how far away we were, I guess. And how far away they were from each other, and how fast they were closing on us. It wasn't just that. I could see - well, not see, exactly, but it was like I had an x-ray picture of everyone in my head. You know, with bones and shit."
"Like an ultrasound?" Ashley asked.
"I dunno." Mickey shrugged. "It's not as if I could stop and think about it. But afterwards, I figured out that it must have been from the bats. Somehow I read their minds while they dive-bombed us.
"Woah. That's kind of cool." Ashley said.
"Are you kidding? Having something else take over your brain? It was awful." Mickey shook her head at the memory.
"So what happened?" Ashley had fainted, she still didn't know why the bats left.
"I...I panicked, I guess. I couldn't take it anymore so I...screamed. Inside my own head, you know? I don't remember exactly what I said, probably just 'aaargh' as loud as I could. And then they vanished, everything went dark like someone pulled the plug on a computer monitor. Next thing I know the bats are gone and I can think again."
"You told them to go away?"
"Maybe."
"So today you did a Vulcan mind probe on this Kith thing?" Ashley asked.
"I don't know. It's not like I do it on purpose. It's happened a few times here in the caves. You know, with little animals. I can hear lizards and crawdads and whatnot crawling around. They don't think very much, though. Not like the Kith." She added.
"Huh." Ashley said, still trying to take it all in.
"Sounds weird, huh?" Mickey asked self-consciously.
"Well, yeah." Ashley admitted. "But...you're not the only one to have weird things happen, you know. Look at Steve, right?"
"I guess." Mickey said, unconvinced.
"And you weren't the only one. Back when the bats came, I mean." Ashley insisted.
"You could hear them too?" Mickey asked, excited.
"No. Not that, but..." Ashley began. "When they appeared, there was one that flew straight at me. Right at my face, you know?"
Mickey nodded.
"I panicked. Sort of like you, probably, but it was more...focused, I guess. All I could think about was the bat, the one that was flying at me, how much I hated that particular bat, and how I wanted it to just go away. The next thing I know there was a flash of light, but...like black light, you know? Everything looked purplish."
Mickey pursed her lips and shrugged. She didn't remember a flash of light, but she'd been pre-occupied with her own problems.
"I know. Nobody else mentioned it, so I thought I'd imagined it. But the next thing I know, I'm waking up in this pile of bat parts. Like it went through a paper shredder." She grimaced at the memory. "I don't know, but I think, I think the flash came from me, and hit the bat."
"Like you blasted it or something?" Mickey asked.
"Yeah. I guess. Something did, anyway. We had enough weirdness even without me blowing up bats, so I figured that it was probably my imagination. But now that I've heard your story...maybe I did." She said slowly.
"Hm." Mickey said. "What would that mean?"
"I don't know. What does your experience mean?"
"What, that wolves or dogs can turn me on like a light switch?" Mickey asked grimly.
"No, I mean...well, yeah."
"I don't know either."
"Do you think the others have anything similar?" Ashley speculated.
"Steve maybe. He's been acting weird."
"Yeah."
The conversation subsided, each girl lost in her own thoughts. In their own worlds, new abilities might have been a source of wonder. Here in an alien cave, surrounded by an unknown world, they robbed the girls of faith in their own bodies, leaving them nothing to rely on.
"Mickey?" Ashley asked, tentatively.
"Yeah.
"Are you going to have puppies?"
"Huh?" Mickey let out a gust of sudden laughter.
"I mean..." Ashley said, embarrassed.
"Cross-species breeding is impossible." She reminded gently.
"Well, so is listening to animals' minds, right?"
"Go to sleep, Ashley." Mickey said, dismissing her concerns.
CONTENT TO BE ADDED: ON THE WAY BACK TO TOWN, THEY ARE SURROUNDED BY KITH. MICKEY GOES TO THE PACK LEADER, INTENDING TO SACRIFICE HERSELF TO BUY THE OTHERS' FREEDOM.
She could feel the Kith's dominating intent. She stood still, fighting the urge to crouch low, knowing that it would mean submission.
She felt a wave of frustration, and his heavy claws on her shoulder, pushing down. Suddenly her father's words came back to her. Clients sometimes asked about the Dog Whisperer, wondering if they should try a "dominance roll" like he advised.
"A leader doesn't need to." Her father would shake his head. "A leader dominates because he knows the others will follow. If you use force, that means you've lost confidence, it means you think they might not follow you on their own. And dogs understand that. You might scare them into temporary obedience, but they won't accept you as master."
His words gave her a new bout of strength, and she pushed back against the beast's paw.
"That's right, punk. So you've got more muscles. So you've got claws. Yadda, yadda, yadda. I'm human, and I'm in charge here. Maybe you can rape me, but I will not back down." She finished with a growl, stepping under his arm to bring her face up against his. The carnivore's hot breath filled her nostrils, and it opened its mouth to display inch-long fangs. The other kith shuffled nervously, keenly aware of the dominance struggle but unsure how it would play out.
Not letting her eyes leave his, she reached down to her crotch, feeling for the moisture that had coated her pussy earlier. Heedless of the men watching, she scooped as much as she could onto her fingers. Slowly, so as not to trigger sudden aggression, she brought her hands up to its shoulders. She could feel its awareness in her mind, the scent of her lust pouring into its mind, blurring its focus on dominance. With a hand in its neck, she marked him with her scent, hoping that the gesture would mean what she thought it did.
She could smell herself through its nostrils, and the Kith whined. It was still baring its teeth at her, but she could feel the plates shifting in its brain as the smell triggered reflexes to dilute its aggression. The Kith growled deep in its throat, but its mouth closed, hiding its fangs. Even without looking down, she could visualize its pink-gray penis emerging from its sheath.
"Go. I'll keep them occupied." She said, looking up at her friends, knowing that they could see her place the tip of the Kith's penis against the lips of her naked vagina.
"But..." Ashley said, face troubled.
"Maybe this why the old man brought me along." Mickey said, trying to smile bravely but not succeeding.
"Mickey, you can't! They'll..." Ashley shook her head, not wanting to accept what Mickey was saying.
"GO!" Mickey shouted, closing her eyes and sinking down, impaling herself on the Kith's penis.
"Come on, then." Casmir said quietly, edging away from the scene. The others followed, eyes still glued to Mickey's crotch as she rocked up and down on Kith.
The other Kith growled at the group, but let them pass.
